Our ‘Krinkled White’ Peony – Paeonia Lactiflora – has large, fragrant blossoms which steal the show for a week or two each year. Here in Zone 6 this plant is quite happy in one of our sunniest spots, for the most part being watered only by the rain. Peonies are a long-lived plant, some surviving up to 50 years, so this one might very well be here longer than I am.

More often than not when I get up close to a flower in the yard I find I am not alone. A sign of a healthy garden, and a reminder that it isn’t only my own home I am tending.
