I don’t look forward to the tiny caterpillars that ravage my fruit trees each spring, but I do look forward to seeing these in June.
I first noticed them a few years ago on a weed that popped up. The plant was thick with them, all munching happily, so I gave it a dedicated spot in my garden. Every year the caterpillars appear and black swallowtail butterflies fill my yard just as the butterfly bush begins to bloom.
