Garden & Gardener

I’m gardening in Eastern Massachusetts, zone 6, on property that’s just over an acre. It was farmland not so long ago, but the owners in the 1970s knocked down the barn, built a pool and a tennis court, and carved out their own slice of suburbia. I could happily spend the rest of my life undoing their work.

I’m most interested in perennial gardening, with a focus on eating and feeding others good food, while also leaving things prettier than I found them.

A fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gardener, I’m willing to throw just about anything into the ground to see what happens. The results are imperfect, but improving bit by bit. Hopefully I am too.
